Located in the Andrew Pickens District, the station is named for Revolutionary War General, Andrew Pickens. This 79,000 acre district serves as the gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina. Commonly known as the ?Stumphouse? Ranger Station, this location offers a small interpretive center, sales outlet, maps and Smokey Bear memorabilia. Trails winding deep into the forest give solitude offering a special closeness to nature for hikers, backpackers and horseback riders.
